National and International Standards demand that vacuum-assisted steam sterilizers must be tested at the beginning of each working day. “Bowie & Dick Test Pack” concept allows you to fulfill this requirement with minimum effort and with the highest level of quality.

Test Pack designed for vacuum-assisted sterilizers to test the efficiency of the vacuum system, to remove air from the sterilizer chamber and to detect leaks in the system that would allow air into the chamber. A uniform change of the indicator sheet indicates that all the air was removed and replaced by steam.

Performed after a warm-up cycle at the beginning of every day, the Bowie-Dick Test verifies the sterilizer effectively removes air.

Double adhesive labels with class 1 indicator for steam sterilisation. Designed for daily pack labelling. The tracking system is essential for providing detailed information on the sterilisation cycle and for placing data in the hospital or patient record card. A wide range of information can be printed on the documentation labels making it easy to keep full records in treatment rooms, medical facilities or beauty salons. Each label can be applied manually or with a labelling machine to a sterilised instrument package. Thanks to a second layer of adhesive, immediately before the instruments are used, the user can reapply the label to the sterilisation control book or patient card.

The descriptive fields on the labels can be filled in with a labelmaker or in the traditional way using a waterproof marker designed for steam sterilisation.

The label records parameters such as:

• expiry date,
• operator,
• sterilization cycle number,
• batch number,
• product number,
• steriliser code,

Once the sterile package is opened in the operating theatre, one label can be peeled off and stuck on the patient chart. Product Features

Type 4 Dual Strips monitors critical parameters to ensure proper sterilization has accrued during the steam sterilization process. The Dual Strips designed for use in all steam sterilizers.

Long stripe of chemical indicator ink printed on perforated-style strip allows full- or half-length use for different pack sizes.

For rigid sterilization loads there should be at least 2 test strips diagonally opposite in each corner to ensure that the cycle has reached all areas of the machine.

Type 5 Laminated Integrator is designed to evaluate parameters of the sterilization process on the location and to give instant read-out. It can be used in all steam sterilizers as an internal pack monitor. The Integrator changes color rapidly when the sterilization parameters are reached.

An internal chemical indicator should be placed in every sterilization package to ensure the sterilization agent has penetrated the packaging material and reached the instruments inside.

Type 5 Steam Integrators can be used inside each load to monitor time, temperature and steam exposure conditions and can provide the necessary sterilization assurance. Type 5 integrator mimics the ability of a biological indicator at three separate points during the sterilization process because it will monitor both time and temperature without requiring incubation as does a biological indicator.

The Integrator consists of a paper wick and steam and temperature-sensitive chemical pellet contained in a foil laminate. The chemical pellet melts and migrates as a dark color along with the paper wick. The migration is visible through a window marked as REJECT or ACCEPT.
